Photon Shaders is a project by SixthSurge. Even though it is not a ray tracing shader, and it’s free, Photon Shaders introduces stunning visuals to the game. The cloud shading in this shader is what makes it unique.
Clouds are dynamic and change color and shape depending on the weather and the time. It is especially noticeable during sunset. If you fly a little higher, you’ll witness a glorious view of the clouds.
High-quality and realistic
Photon Shaders 1.19.4 provide clear, transparent blue water that reflects sunlight. The water surface changes with every movement fish make and reflect the sky. The shadow quality looks so realistic that you would feel like you’re walking through the foliage in real life.
Each type of block is shaded so subtly that you can notice an upgrade in quality even though you’re just playing vanilla Minecraft and not adding any textures. This high-end shader is perfect for those who want to run shaders but does not want to consume too much of their PC resources by running both textures and shaders together.
Cloud-focused aesthetics
In this shader, the god rays look majestic during sunrises and sunsets. In other shaders, you’ll notice how they lack variety in clouds. Either they only have cirrus or cumulus formations. With these shaders, almost every cloud type is present, giving sunrises and sunsets a more realistic vibe. It is rare to find the sun or the moon alone. You would usually see them partly covered with clouds. You can soar above the clouds in creative mode and take out-of-the-world screenshots. They would look as if you took pictures from an aircraft in real life.
Overall, Photon Shaders is a no-fluff, clouds aesthetics-focused shader. It’s a shader perfect for those who want to play vanilla Minecraft on another level or those who want to take beautiful sunrise and sunset images.
