Shaderpacks
Shaderpacks are packs that add realistic shading to Minecraft. Features added include god rays, shadows, anti-aliasing, depth of field and so on. Among shaderpacks, there is a huge difference between one shaderpack and the other. Some shaders will add a bunch of features to Minecraft, whereas some others are more limited in what they add to the game. These shaderpacks in return do yield more FPS. This makes the shaderpacks more playable and overall more enjoyable on low end PC’s. A good example of low end shaderpacks is Builder’s QOL Shaders, which adds limited features to Minecraft. As a consequence, it’s one of the lightest shaderpacks around and will basically run on any system. On the other side of the spectrum, there are shaders like BSL Shaders and SEUS PTGI, with the latter being the heaviest on your system. They will add features like god rays, high-quality shadows, heavy anti-aliasing, bloom and so on. Apart from that they also support POM and PBR texture packs, which can take realism in Minecraft to the next level. SEUS PTGI is a shaderpack that includes a feature that was previously unknown to Minecraft: path tracing. This means that using modern GPU technology, SEUS PTGI is able to more realistically and accurately shade your world.
