Chocapic13′ Shaders are often used as the foundation for many other shader mods. It is popular among shader pack developers because almost every single aspect when it comes to quality and aesthetics is already present in this shader, making subtle tweaks a lot easier.

One of the most promising effects of this shader is the fog quality, which blends very well with dark, gloomy nights. It creates a melancholic atmosphere which would be perfect for horror-themed texture packs. The light and shadow effects are present in every biome and work well with mods that add extra elements to the game.

A new level of customization

Probably the biggest strength of Chocapic13’s Shaders is it that allows anyone to play with the shader’s many settings. Most realistic shaders have this feature too, but this shader’s setting is just very specific and generous when it comes to customization. You can tweak it so specific that it gives you the most aesthetically pleasing visuals, or you could lower its quality so mid-end PCs can run it better. Unfortunately, this shaderpack is not suited for low-end PCs. It is recommended that you at least have a decent GPU in order to appreciate it.

Improvements

Some improvements the Chocapic13’s Shaders recently added were better clouds. Almost every cloud formation is present in this shader. Many shaders that claim realism often have repetitive cloud formations. This shader also has a stronger fog blur when raining, adding a better vibe as the night is brighter especially when raining. Clouds are a bit more customizable, all thanks to this shader’s new updates. On top of that, foliage is better, too.

Coming across deep forests, you would definitely notice how leaves slightly look more realistic because of how the shadows are presented. Lastly, water caustics and reflection in this shader are out of this world, coming across bodies of water and taking screenshots while god rays hit you is like a dream come true. This shader is one of the ultimate shaders one must have.
