One of the most widely used shaders today has been around for a long time and is called Triliton’s Shaders. The Triliton’s shaders are based on Chocapic13′ shaders, which is a hugely popular shaderpack.

Minecraft river through a desert and savanna biome with Triliton ShadersTriliton’s Shaders’ amazing lighting and shadow effects allowed the developer to set a higher minimum requirement, making it a considerably more demanding shader than others. Despite this, the developer appears to be continually improving the shader while still offering improved overall aesthetics.

Improvements

Water tones and reflectivity have been improved, god rays have been smoothed, and many outrageously bright and dark colors have been prevented from appearing in weird places. Another minor change that may surprise many people due to the level of detail is getting rid of the indoor fog. Most shaders lack this feature, and we can’t deny that fog doesn’t really get into structures that much in real life. Including that subtle detail in the game adds to the realism of this shader pack. Sun and moon flares are also present, adding to the game’s overall realistic adventure vibe.

Resource heavy, but worth it

When it comes to PC resources, this shader can be very demanding, so having a better GPU definitely helps. Yes, this shader is quite large, but we really can’t complain. When you apply this shader to your game, you’ll notice a big difference between it and other mid to low-end shaders, which would make you appreciate well-made shaders even more. This shader comes in eight different variations, each with a different tone mapping, vignette level, and contrast.

The first version of this shader appears to be warmer and has less fog than the other versions, but it can also be too bright for some. Version 2 appears to be darker, gloomier, and more melancholic overall. The third version is nearly as bright as Version 1, but a little more monotone. Versions 4 through 8 appear to have been improved with better skies, cloud formations, shadows, and more realistic water caustics and reflections.
