Chocapic High Performance Shaders by Chocapic13 are some of the oldest shaders still around today, and are generally some of the best optimized Minecraft 1.20.2 Shaders. The High Performance shaders are a low end version of the more complete Chocapic13 shaders. The Chocapic HPFS shaders 1.20 are the ideal shaderpack for any PC or Laptop that can’t run shaders very well, as these shaders even work in Intel.

Chocapic13 High Performance Shaders 1.20.2 is the latest version of the Low End version of the Chocapic13 Shaders. The latter are a more complete shaderpack, with almost all features you’d expect to see with Minecraft shaders. Chocapic13 Shaders include many features, such as water parallax, high quality shadows and much more. Chocapic13 Toaster Edition on the other hand is a simplified version of these shaders, as these shaders lack features such as custom water animations.
Another difference between the full Chocapic13 Shaders and the stripped-down High Performance Shaders are the shadow quality. The filtering, resolution and distance at which shadows are rendered is greatly reduced with the High Performance Shaders.
The above comparison demonstrates the limited render distance of shadows. Apart from that, the below comparison shows the reduction of the actual resolution of the shadows. The shadows with the full Chocapic13 shaders are way smoother, whereas the shadows with the Toaster Shaders look pixelated. But although the shadows with the High Performance Shaders look worse, the lower quality graphics greatly benefits the performance.
High Performance Shaders: Toaster vs. Low
Chocapic13 High Performance Shaders comes in two versions. As confusing as it may seem, the Low version of this low end shader is actually the one with better quality graphics, the Toaster version is the absolute low-end one. Both versions perform extremely well on low-end PC’s and yield high FPS, granted your PC is able to run Minecraft (without shaders) at good FPS.
The few clear differences between the Toaster and Low version are their shadow quality, and the fact that the Low version has waving foliage.
