📦 Download Vanilla Plus Shader
The Vanilla Plus Shader is a shaderpack that adds various visual effects, while maintaining the look of vanilla Minecraft as much as possible.
Upgraded vanilla Minecraft
This shaderpack does something special, something most other shaders try not to do: make Minecraft look as much like vanilla as possible. That’s why, by default, this shaderpack doesn’t add visual features such as custom water, with reflections and so on.
It does add quite a number of other effects, such as shadows, bloom and volumetric clouds. It also makes sunlight more realistic, by making the sun cast godrays and by adding lens flare, which appears when looking at the sun.
Presets
This vanilla shaderpack comes with two presets, which are called Fast and Fancy. This may remind you of the presets you seen on some low-end shaderpacks like Sildur’s Enhanced Default, but don’t be fooled.
Vanilla Plus is not a low-end shader, as it adds too many visual effects to be playable on a low-end system. On the Fast preset, which it is set to by default, it will give you more frames per second when compared to the Fancy preset. This does not mean, however, that the Fast preset is optimized for low-end PC’s.
With the Fancy presets, you will lose even more FPS. In return, the shaders will look better, since this preset enables more visual effects. The water for instance, will no longer look like vanilla water. It will now look realistic, and have reflections.
Overall, this shaderpack looks a bit like Nostalgia Shader, when set to the Fancy preset. And that is not a coincidence, as both of these shaderpacks were made by the same renowned creator called RRe36.
