Tea Shaders for Minecraft 1.20.1 are simple, yet elegant low end shaders. If you’ve never heard of these minecraft shaders before, Beyond Belief Vanilla Reborn might ring a bell. The shaderpack was renamed in 2020.

Simple as they are, these shaders make a great option for any shaders enthusiast running Minecraft on a low end PC. With it’s limited features, it will remind you of a similarly well-optimized shaderpack called Builders QoL Shaders.

If you also agree that less can be more, you’ll know exactly why we recommend shaders like these. By deciding not to add certain features to a shaderpack, the pack will remain more lightweight. Because of this, a broader audience will be able to enjoy the shaders, even if they are on a low end system.

A shaderpack, but simplified

Because these shaders should run well on low end systems, you shouldn’t expect to be greeted by extreme god rays and incredible reflections. This shaderpack balances between being an upgrade from Vanilla Minecraft and actually adding shaders. As becomes visible from the comparison below, the shaders are noticeable, but not as clearly as some other shaders.

If you look closely, you can see the AO (Ambient Occlussion) under the tree, as well as the reduction of sharp texture borders. This is done using FXAA (light anti-aliasing). These are some of the effects you can decide to enable. If you need more frames per second, then you might want to disable additional effects like these.

Tea Shaders vs. Sildur’s Vibrant Lite

This shaderpack is not the only shaderpack that we consider ‘Low End’. Sildur’s Vibrant Lite is another low end pack, albeit with a few more features. The comparison below shows the difference in feature sets between this shaderpack and Sildur’s Vibrant Lite.

Clearly, Sildur’s Vibrant adds much more color and shading to Minecraft. It includes features such as god rays, shadows and, as the name suggests, vibrant coloring. Now you may be thinking to yourself: ‘Why would anyone ever use these shaders then?’. The answer to that is very simple. Because of its limited features, this shaderpack will give you great FPS, even on a low end PC. Sildur’s Vibrant Lite on the other hand, will lower your FPS significantly, to the point where it might be hard to run on older and slower systems.
